Buongiorno Italy (Day 01 Adriatic Sea Expedition, Milan) 29th April 2015

Landed in Milan (MXP) 3am New York time, very tired. Not much quality sleep on the crappy American Airlines flight. Very unfriendly ground and air staff.

Train from airport was easy. Hotel Garda is right outside of Milano Centrale train station. Dropped our bags and Van fell immediately to sleep. I organized gear a bit, woke Van and we went exploring.

Ran into the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and the Duomo de Milano by accident. We were looking for a pizza place Van's hair stylist Melissa told us about but ran into this instead:

We'll find the pizza place tomorrow. We had to run to the outskirts of the city to attend an 8:45pm AC Milan vs. Genoa football (soccer) match at the world famous San Siro stadium.

Panini sandwiches are everywhere. After a few beers outside the stadium, these tasted pretty good.

Apparently we were part of a demonstration against AC Milan owner and organizer of world famous Bunga Bunga parties, Silvio Berlusconi. Oh, and he used to be the Prime Minister of Italy as well. Here is an image from the BBC article:

If you look to the lower right corner of the last "A" in "Basta," you'll barely see two people siting, one with a red sweat jacket. That is Van and I. The original article is here: AC Milan Protest. AC Milan lost 1-3.

On the metro ride home, we found a book vending machine in the subway station.
