Swimming with Seals: Coolest Thing I did in Cape Town This Trip

The water was cold but the wetsuit and trying to keep up with the Cape Fur Seals kept us warm.

These guys played with us for over an hour. They seemed sad to see us leave.

The Cape Fur Seals are not timid!

Diving with the seals was easily the coolest thing I did in South Africa this trip. One of
these devilish seals "borrowed" my GoPro twice off the head of my sister Thea. We couldn't
get it back the second time! Luckily we rented a second GoPro from Animal Ocean or
we'd have no footage.

Benjamin Torio is hosting this short video.

Animal Ocean showed us a wonderful, professional experience.

Swimming with the Great Whites (part 3 of 3)

The Chum Man brewing up a tasty brew.

Less than two feet from the 'diver' in the right most area of the cage.

The eight 'divers' get an eye full of great white.

Swimming with the Great Whites (part 2 of 3)

My sisters Meg and Thea entering the 8-person shark cage.

Meg, Thea and Benjamin, 9-years-old, in the shark cage and 12 degree Celsius water (53.6 degrees Fahrenheit)

One of seven great whites we saw that afternoon.

Captured some great footage, stay tuned for the short video.

Swimming with the Great Whites (part 1 of 3)

I tried to swim with the great white sharks three years ago when I was in South Africa for the FIFA World Cup (this is a big, world-wide soccer tournament my American friends). The weather was terrible for our reserved day so it didn't happen. Today was perfect.

They gave me a sweet orange rubber jacket. I asked if I could keep it. The answer was, "No." :(

My bother (in-law) and I putting on the wetsuits. The water is flippin' cold in the Indian Ocean; hoodies and booties.

Due to the slow internet in Cape Town, this is all I can show you tonight. I am tired, smell like chum (cut up fish) and need a shower. More tomorrow on this same Bat Channel.

Irie Shoot Mon

Shot in Judah Square, a Rastafari community in the Khayalethu township just outside the vacation town of Knysna, north-east of Cape Town about five hours up the Garden Route.

3 year old Naeema latched onto my sister for the seven hour shoot, never leaving her side. In this shot she is wearing Meg's sunglasses.

Naeema and a friend fight over my camera in order to take photos.
